Mozilla has announced that first Firefox 4 beta 1 (Fennec) is available for mobile phones on Android and Maemo platform.. Overall performance and responsiveness is improved by new architecture. Firefox 4 Beta now includes Firefox Sync in order to enable seamless experience and synchronization with desktop Firefox so you can now take your browsing history, bookmarks, tabs, passwords anywhere with you. Today at Barcelona, Mobile World Congress 2010, two companies, Intel and Nokia announced joint project called MeeGo, blend of Intel's Moblin and Nokia's Maemo.
This new llinux platform for mobile devices is expected to be available in Q2 2010 with first devices running this OS. New project web site www.meego.com is already available online.
It will support Qt which will make porting applications easier to new platform. We expect that future Maemo 6 will be MeeGo compatibile, so stay tuned.

We are eager to see how Maemo will do in the future, as it has great potential.
It is another happy day for Maemo 5 users. Nokia has released the first major update for the Nokia N900. Some of the most important fixes include Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 support and solved problems with bluetooth handsfree. Complete changelog can be found here. More info here.

Tracy and Matt have published on their blog really interesting Nokia N900 unboxing video. All that they have received is the large black plastic monolith with minu USB connector. Puzzle for real geeks. Inside there is a brand new Nokia N900 with Linux Maemo OS and accessories. Although excelent OS comming from Nokia, in next year rumors are that there is only one additional Maemo device that we can expect. Soon more on N900.
