We had a chance to play with HTC Wildfire, the new smartphone that will be a successor to the model HTC Tattoo. The newest addition to the HTC Android porfolio looks like a mini Desire. As you can see in the following table, it even has a capacitive screen (Tattoo did not). The only drawback is of course the screen, but since the resolution is lower than desire, it does not need a Snapdragon 1GHz processor, and works like a charm.
HTC Wildfire could be a big hit, considering the expected price and mass market audience that could afford it. It packs a new and improved version of HTC Sense, integrating notifications from social networks directly with a contact during a call. It will be available in cool colors as well (gunmetal, black, white, red).
The Wildfire looks cute standing next to Nexus One, maybe an ideal second phone ?
Since HTC EVO 4G appeard on US market, we have waited for a similar device from other manufacturers. Well, Motorola has made a bigger one. Droid X has a huge screen and following specs:
4.4" FWVGA screen (854×480)
Android 2.1 with Motoblur
8MP camera with 720p video recording capabilities
1GHz ARMv7 processor (OMAP3630?)
8GB of internal storage space

Just recently, Long Zheng uploaded photos from this year's TechEd conference on FlickR. Check out the improvements in newer test version of Windows Phone 7. Sure looks good. Even though Microsoft planned WP7 for the "Holidays", or so we heard at MWC 2010, a miracle just may happen. Could Microsoft deliver earlier than planned ?
The manufacturers are ready, and we want our HD3 in full glory.
Qualcomm – the company behind our beloved Snapdragon-based processors that we’re beginning to see in more and more devices today – has announced that they’ve begun sampling their first dual core Snapdragon processors. The new models are the MSM8260 and the MSM8660 and they feature two cores with the ability to run up to 1.2Ghz per core.
They’ve referred to these chipsets as the third generation of Qualcomm chipsets and will be targeted for manufacturers looking to make high-end smartphones.
Qualcomm also has a third chipset in their third generation of products – the QSD8672 – which has the ability to reach 1.5ghz in each core. That chipset was sampled in the second half of 2009 and we expect to see devices carrying the chipset sometime in 2010. Read ahead for the full press info.
