ai.rs blog Exclusive

As we promised, we bring you more info on HTC Legend. In fact, we present you exclusive crystal clear image of the upcoming Android phone from HTC. We suppose it will replace Hero, considering the dimensions, screen size and specs. Besides the AMOLED HVGA screen (16 million colors) it features optical mouse (or should we say optical trackpoint?). Legend will probably be announced in Barcelona (World Mobile Congress 2010) and hit the streets (or mobile operators) in march 2010. It certainly does resemble the Hero, but Legend will have metallic frame and will also feature updated versions of HTC People and Footprints. Let's not forget LED flash, something the Hero really misses, and a 600MHz processor. Green bottom is probably going to change… What do you thing on Legend vs Bravo ? Will you even consider HVGA after WVGA and Bravo appear ?

    design is flawless
    AMOLED screen is great improvement
hope to see it in action soon :)

  2. Diego! Says:

I’m sorry guys but what HVGA are you talking about? Both Legend & Bravo have WVGA according to their specifications.

Below the image says: Screen: 3.2″ WVGA AMOLED capacitive touch screen. So? Is it WVGA or HVGA?

  3. msav Says:

@Diego – sorry, our mistake – it is HVGA, typo error

  4. Kevin Says:

    No love for 1700 :(

  5. Nedjo Says:

Its ARM11 based SoC, not Scorpion based Snapdragon like in Bravo!

  6. damniatx Says:

    that one NICE!

  7. SDsc_rch Says:

nope.. not for me……. no hw kybd – no snapdragon

    sorry boys!

  8. Yongd Says:

    Very cool.I like it!

  9. SMS Says:

The new htc looks very cool. I hope the CPU isn’t too slow……

  10. D57dd Says:

What will it do that the “magic” won’t do and visa versa – looks really great

  11. depannage informatique Says:

Very nice ! but white and green is so ….

  12. Deswatch Says:

About to buy a HTC Magic – should I wait? Does it have GPS? Is it beter than the ‘magic’ at multimedia? Looks damn nice!

  13. Andy Says:

I like it. I want it.

  14. CF Says:

the top processor used by HTC is Snapdragon 1GHz……and then the one is MSM 7227 600MHz….
    WHY SO A LARGE GAP??

  15. Bodo Says:

Not for me either. Looks cool !! But since 1 GHz processors are ´in the market´ today, 600 MHz is ridiculous. And 3.2 inch touch screen is pretty small.

I do not understand, why HTC and others do not take their time to build Smartphones that meet the requirements of us users instead of pushing one Phone after another on the market . Sure I can give the answer – money. I hate what they do !
Excuse my English – am german.

  16. Bob a Says:

HVGA WVGA is not the issue…….3.2″ screen is too small.. so I would choose Bravo or something else with 3.7″ (or larger) screen.

  17. greg Says:

all right Bodo you saying that 3.2 touch screen is too small, that 600 MHz is to slow, well different people different needs. For me will be fit perfectly in my pocket :) 3.2″ its just ok and Mhz’s or GHz’s doesn’t only one issue if you talking about speed/lag of the any smartphone. BTW does somebody know how much will be coast in UK?

  18. DD Says:

why limit it to GSM carriers, i.e. AT&T’s poor network?

  19. Christian Says:

    Damn, I am lost!
The Legend is pretty cool, by design it delivers a high value feeling to the user. But the specs!! Awful. The Legend is really bling-bling, and I really hope so for the end-design of the Bravo (actually it doesn’t look as cool as the Legend does), too.

  20. ABC Says:

A gd phone…..the only bad thing with it is the 600MHz CPU……..:(

  21. chri Says:

Will it come out for Sprint? well im thinking yea because it is a Hero 2 so right?

  22. Ddag Says:

GSM based phones can be rolled out accross more continents quicker for less money, Palm found that out the hard way. What’s all the complaints about the processor too? It’s more than enough for the target market this device is for. Aslong as it’s priced to reflect the short falls it’ll sell in droves and the HTC community will keep it on it’s feet for years :)

  23. chri Says:

So will sprint get this for sure

  24. Joya Says:

Looks nice~wonder how much it’ll cost. I really want it because of the flashlight what the Hero misses. When is it coming to stores?

  25. Brett Says:

All want power, speed and a large screen, but always neglect the fact that it takes JUICE. Who wants a device that struggles to make it through the day on one charge?

  26. Boredlitt Says:

No! I hate the way they have tried to ‘modernize’ the design on that device. The HTC Hero had one of the best looking designs (in my eyes) for ages with the more retro meets future look. This one looks somewhat like a Nokia if that is how it will end up looking.

  27. Nick Says:

I actually rather like the new design, the jaw perhaps a little less prominent than it was before, thats neither here nor there. I dont understand the fuss about the processor, I dont think that after the Hero’s 5 star reviews they would release a substandard successor, itll be the right processor for the phone. The Bravo will demand a lot more from itself and therefore will require a more power cpu. Anyhoo atleast theyve addressed the led light issue.

  28. deee Says:

    beautiful
    i want it !
i hope optical mouse i will not be as in new leaked bravo photos…

  29. Yousif Mustafa Says:

    Hey People,
I am an ANDROID developer and working for corporation which work with HTC, i’m glad and proud to tell u that LEGEND rocks.
    HTC Legend & ANDROID 2.1 -> i think i don’t need anything else

  30. mr HTC Says:

Simply love it! But I hope it comes soon, cause I was at the break of buying a Hero, and then this one came in the news.
Only thing I’d like to now is if an optical is better than a trackball. Will I be better of with A Legend or with a Hero.
